Building on the success of quirky King’s Cross café/watering hole/social club Drink Shop & Do, its owners have launched a destination club/bar next door in a former sex shop. The venue’s sleazy past is referenced by a lurid neon sign & in tiny what-the-butler-saw peepholes set into otherwise sober charcoal-grey walls. Much sexier than the previous occupant’s furry handcuffs, is a range of over 30 quality gins with names like Berkeley Square, Sacred, No. 209, Caorunn, Blackwood 60, Zuidam & Wisconsin-distilled Death’s Door – not your usual off-licence suspects. Meanwhile gin-avoiders might prefer winter daiquiri, marmalade mule or something from a good selection of beers that includes Camden Town, Tyskie & Whistable Bay. Wine drinkers are also catered for, & the music is as diverse as the friendly but cool crowd at this must-do downstairs disco.
