Named for the water feature with which it shares the grounds of Grade I-listed Luton Hoo Hotel, Warren Weir is an enchanting all-purpose venue with the sense of occasion to host memorable wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions. Set within 1,065 acres of Capability Brown-designed parklands, which make a fine backdrop for photos, there are few wedding venues in the Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire areas that are more magnificent than Warren Weir. And the fact that the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh celebrated some of their early wedding anniversaries at Luton Hoo is testament to how special it is.
The venue’s five function rooms run from the intimate Turnford Brook up to the vast Lea Roding Suite, which can accommodate up to 290 guests and takes its name from the river that tumbles past outside. Various wedding packages are available and include everything from exclusive use of the function building and surrounding outdoor area to a Champagne reception with canapés, three-course wedding breakfast with wine and Champagne to toast, a bedroom suite for your wedding night and more, depending on which package you choose.
Wedding breakfast menus are distinctly British, with starters including the likes of oak smoked salmon and cream cheese press with gin pickled cucumber, sweet lemon gel and pea shoots, and cream of cauliflower soup, served with a warm stilton scone, and mains taking the form of duo of Cornish lamb served with hot pot potatoes, wilted spinach and Madeira sauce, and pan-roasted corn-fed chicken supreme filled with wild garlic mousseline, garden peas, asparagus, parsley-creamed potatoes and a cep velouté.
Warren Weir also benefits from 84 bedrooms, meaning your guests won’t have far to travel after celebrating your big day. The morning after, overnight guests can restore themselves in the swimming pool or wander around the beautiful parklands.
