This well-known City restaurant, next to the Bank of England, has a loyal following for its food, but it is also a fine venue for a wedding reception for up to 150 (it has no licence but there are no shortage of churches and registry offices in the vicinity). Guests will gather in recently refurbished 1776 restaurant for drinks and canapés before moving into the Brasserie to eat under 1 Lombard Street's famous dome. As you’d expect, the food is a big draw – the set menus are well thought-out and offer excellent value. A late licence is available, which will be welcome news for the night owls who will no doubt congregate in the bar post-reception.
