1 Lombard Street’s dining room, set beneath a stunning glass dome, has long been a favourite among City workers for business lunches. When the occasion calls for something a bit more exclusive though, 1 Lombard Street steps up to the plate with a gorgeous private dining space that is available to hire for all manner of events, from birthday dinners to business meetings.
1776 is 1 Lombard Street’s private dining room, tucked away behind the main Brasserie and boasting its own private entrance, plus views overlooking Mansion House. The large space is flooded with natural light and exudes grandeur, without ever feeling stuffy - sparkling chandeliers are dotted along the ceiling, mint green walls add a calming element and waitstaff donning shirts and waistcoats are on hand to cater to your every whim.
Suited to both corporate events and intimate catch ups with your nearest and dearest, 1776 can host up to 60 guests for a sit-down dinner and up to 90 for a standing reception with drinks and canapes. Guests are able to dine from a selection of British seasonal set menus, which have been designed in partnership with executive chef Robin Freeman and celebrity chef Mark Hix MBE.
The food at 1776 is underpinned by sustainably sourced British produce and evolves with the seasons, but dishes you might find on your visit include the likes of traditional fish and chips served alongside mushy peas or loin of Dingley dell pork with braised red cabbage and sage gravy. To end on a high note, tuck into tempting desserts such as spotted dick with custard or Mark Hix’s signature ‘credit crunch’ ice cream topped with lashings of hot chocolate sauce.
On hand to help you bring your private dining vision to life is a dedicated events team, who will coordinate your event from start to finish and ensure that it is truly bespoke.
