Housed within a Victorian townhouse, just moments from Hyde Park, The University Women’s Club is a Grade II-listed building, offering a historic and elegant backdrop for couples looking to get married in the heart of Mayfair.
The Club is fully licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 60 guests, and boasts three distinct event spaces, each with their own charm and character. The wood-panelled Library comes complete with antique parquet flooring, crystal chandeliers and sweeping views across Hyde Park. It’s the perfect option for an intimate ceremony or wedding breakfast and can accommodate up to 60. The neighbouring Drawing Room can also host up to 60, boasting an original fireplace, a grand piano and hand-painted wall panels. The two spaces can even be combined to accommodate up to 120 guests for an evening reception.
On the ground floor, the Dining Room offers an idyllic backdrop, with floor-to-ceiling French windows that open up onto the leafy terraced garden. Host gatherings for up to 80 guests standing, or use the space for welcome drinks and canapes before your wedding breakfast. Every event includes exclusive use of the rooms until 1am, with classic white linen and silverware to ensure a memorable occasion.
Couples can visit the site in advance to enjoy a complimentary menu tasting for two, with a bespoke catering service that can be tailored to each couple’s tastes and dietary needs. Guests can expect seasonal and creative menus, with options for multi-course feasts or more casual canapes and bowl food for a standing reception. Expect dishes like Parma ham and fig salad, Spanish and feta filo parcels to start, followed by beef fillet with dauphinois potatoes or roasted sea bass with ginger rice.
Couples and their guests can also make use of the Club's 22 ensuite bedrooms, ideal for getting ready on the day or extending the celebrations overnight.
