Located just around the corner from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, South Place Hotel is a perfect setting for all types of weddings. This five-star central London hotel has a range of spaces, each with different styles and sizes to fit what couples are picturing for their big day. The hotel is licensed for both weddings and civil ceremonies, boasting 80 rooms, three bars, two restaurants (one with a Michelin star) and five private dining rooms. This hotel really does think of everything, with additions like groom’s brunches, wedding lunches, fancy dinners and a quiet whisky after things die down.
The rooms are named after famous spies, such as Purdey and Steed from the Avengers. The Purdey & Steed room seats up to 100 for dinners or 200 for standing receptions and is bathed in natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling south-facing windows. For a smaller space, the Kuryakin (named after the Russian spy from ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) can host up to 20 guests for an intimate dinner around the ruby lacquered table. There is even interactive artwork on the wall, so you can use it to tailor the space to your style.
Peel (named after Emma Peel from The Avengers) is a more elegant space, which again seats 20 for a private meal. The south wall is all windows, filling the room with light, while another is lined with silver birch trees adding a whimsical feel. This room also works perfectly for bridal showers. Solo is the most intimate of the private rooms, offering a billiards table space for 16 seated guests or 25 standing for drinks. The Michelin-starred rooftop restaurant Angler can also be booked for weddings and dinners.
The rooms at South Place Hotel are luxurious and feature high-powered hairdryers, 40-inch Bang & Olufsen televisions and complimentary films.
