Are you looking for a wedding venue in the Kent countryside? Ruffynes Barn is a restored 16th-century barn set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the outskirts of Aldington, offering a scenic and flexible setting for both ceremonies and receptions.
Surrounded by greenery and overlooking Romney Marsh, the barn provides a striking backdrop for weddings of all sizes. Inside, a high vaulted ceiling and exposed oak beams create a sense of space, with large rattan pendant lights running down the centre of the barn adding warmth and character. The interior can be styled to suit your day, whether you choose to keep things simple or add greenery, flowers and fairy lights. The venue can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and up to 200 for an evening reception.
The barn is fully licensed for ceremonies and alcohol, with the option to host your entire day on site or hold your ceremony at the nearby 12th-century church before moving to the barn for the reception. Bridal changing facilities are available and the team can support with both pre-wedding planning and on-the-day coordination to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Outside, a lawn, garden and courtyard offer space for drinks receptions and outdoor seating, with festoon lighting helping to carry the atmosphere into the evening. Inside, features include a built-in oak bar with stools, a dance floor and a revolving disco ball, with space for live bands or DJs.
Couples can personalise the space with styling details such as bud vases, candle holders and signage, while extras including a marquee, cocktail bar, photographers, florists and entertainment can all be arranged. Catering is typically provided by Fern and Farro, with the option to bring in your own suppliers for an additional fee. There is also onsite parking for guests, with the option to leave cars overnight.
