Ruffynes Barn is a countryside venue in Kent, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the outskirts of Aldington. Dating back to the 16th century, the Grade II-listed barn has been carefully restored, combining its original character with the flexibility needed to host a wide range of events, from weddings and private parties to corporate gatherings.
The barn itself is a striking space, with a vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and an open layout that can be styled to suit different occasions. The space can be adapted easily and can host up to 120 guests seated or 200 standing. Features include a built-in, fully stocked bar with staff, a dedicated dance floor and a revolving mirror ball, with space for live bands or DJs, making it well suited to evening receptions and larger celebrations. On-site parking is also available.
Outside, a garden and courtyard provide additional space for drinks receptions and garden parties, with views across Romney Marsh and the surrounding countryside. Outdoor and festoon lighting help set the tone in the evening, while shepherd huts and well-appointed facilities, including deluxe loos, add to the overall comfort. A nearby 12th-century church, just a short walk down the lane, also makes it a popular choice for weddings, with the option of a dedicated wedding planner to support the day.
Food is typically provided by Fern and Farro, although external caterers can be arranged for an additional fee. The venue also allows flexibility with styling, from tableware and glassware to flowers and decorative touches, with options to add extras such as a cocktail bar in order to make your event more personalised.
