An abandoned Victorian theatre hidden inside Alexandra Palace is set to reopen in December after a whopping £18.8m revamp.
With new technology and historic original features, the Grade II-listed space has been transformed into a flexible event venue fit for anything from 100 to 1,300 guests.
A feat of Victorian engineering originally opened in 1875, the theatre struggled to compete with the West End and was eventually shut in 1935.
But after 80 years of slumber and a lottery-funded, multimillion-pound restoration led by award-winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, it’s finally been brought back to life.
A newly levelled and strengthened floor will make the space adaptable for smaller, more intimate events, including corporate entertainment for 850, banquets for 340 and receptions for 1,000.
The theatre will be an exciting addition to the nine existing spaces at Alexandra Palace, which can cater for banquets for up to 5,000 guests as well as smaller conferences.
Team away day packages (including theatre hire, catering and activities) as well as bespoke packages will be available, with the team now taking bookings for 2019.
