Her Majesty’s Courts Service was still using Warwick’s Old Shire Hall in 2010. Less than a decade later, Sanderson Miller’s Grade I-listed building makes a fine venue for conferences and gala dinners. Stone columns, a classic compartmental ceiling and period chandeliers define its Great Hall, which dates back to 1750. With a statement marble chimney piece, the Drawing Room is a destination in its own right, or it can host welcome receptions before guests sit down in the stately Dining Room. Drinks can also be taken in any of three octagonal court rooms, while tours of the police cells and dungeons are an uncommon add-on. The Judges’ House, built 60 years later in the Grecian style, has a choice of handsome spaces for board meetings.
