Lyle’s opened within the Tea Building on Shoreditch High Street in early 2014. A bright space with an industrial Scandi feel (picture double-height ceilings and windows, concrete floors, wooden furniture, and on-trend pendant lighting) this cool restaurant is headed up by James Lowe, formerly of chef collective Young Turks. Here, dishes mix seasonal meats and fish with unusual vegetables: think blood ‘cake’ with damson and chicory, pollock with seaweed or cured pig’s cheek in nettle soup. As such, the six-course menu changes daily, but food requests can be taken into consideration when the whole place is hired exclusively for 60 diners.
