This former Victorian pub near the riverside in Chelsea is now a welcoming brasserie. Inside, the modern design combines warm tones with brighter splashes of colour, while simple wooden floors contrast with ornate chandeliers. At the heart of the operation is an open grill that turns out honest, Provençal-inspired grill dishes, such as whole grilled sea bass or a Colne Valley rack of lamb. Canapés are similarly hearty – these include gratinated queen scallops with garlic butter, and strips of sirloin and tartines. Guests can soak up the river views from chaise longues at informal events, while wine tastings are a speciality.
