100 Wardour Street has a history of great parties. In 1964, it was home to the Marquee Club, hosting the likes of David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix. Now, the venue is home to The Playroom, Restaurant and Club and the ground floor Bar and Lounge. The Playroom is perfect for private dining or a few games of pool, while the Restaurant and Club is a buzzy music venue with food and cocktails served til late. The Bar and Lounge, meanwhile, is a more relaxed space, ideal for a post-work drink and nibble.
Each space at 100 Wardour St can be hired individually, or the whole venue can be booked for large events. The Playroom can seat 12 for dinner, 25 for casual seating or host 40 for a standing reception. The larger Bar and Lounge can seat 150 for a lavish dinner or host up to 400 for a reception. Larger still, the basement Restaurant and Club can seat up to 240 or host 450 standing for a truly lavish affair. Exclusive hire allows seated events for up to 390 or 850 standing, making this a venue in Soho with an almost unrivalled capacity.
As with all D&D openings, food is a priority here. A typical a la carte menu starts things off with the likes of crab cannelloni with samphire, moving to larger plates like a dry-aged ribeye with pickled mushroom and peppercorn sauce and finishing with decadent desserts like warm apple cake with apple sorbet, oat crumble and candied apple. House cocktails are not to be missed here, with playful concoctions like ‘spice up your life’, a mixture of Don Julio reposado, passionfruit, chilli and sugar, or the floral fizz featuring Ketel One, Belsazar rosé, lavender syrup and prosecco.
