This high-end Italian restaurant is found on Mayfair’s glamorous Berkeley Street, in the space that was previously occupied by flashy Japanese restaurant Nobu for 15 years.
Il Borro takes its name from the prestigious Il Borro Estate in Tuscany, which is set among a sprawling 700-hectare site and was established more than 1,000 years ago. The grandiose feel of the estate has been replicated in the Il Borro restaurant, which extends across two floors and boasts an impressive double-height glazed frontage overlooking Berkeley Street.
Il Borro is in good company, too, as the street also houses opulent Chinese restaurant Park Chinois, as well as double restaurant Novikov, which serves Asian and Italian menus in two distinct spaces.
As far as the menu goes, you can expect Il Borro to provide customers with an all-day offering of authentic Italian produce, much of which is sourced directly from the Il Borro Estate in Italy.
Fans of Nobu Berkeley St need not fret though, as London still has the same amount of Nobu restaurants as it did previously. Nobu Lifestyle, the hospitality brand founded by superstar chef Nobu Matsuhisa, legendary Hollywood actor Robert De Niro and businessman Meir Teper, has been keen to stress that Nobu Berkeley St is merely relocating and will now to be housed at the Nobu Hotel that will open in Portman Square in summer 2020.
Estate agents Knight Frank secured the Berkeley Street sale.
