Victor’s is a neighbourhood restaurant like no other. Located in the bustling Westgate centre, this coastal-themed haven offers modern Asian-inspired fare, exotic cocktails, afternoon tea and more. Children, vegetarians and vegans are well-catered to here, while sushi-lovers will have a field day. The interiors are elegantly furnished, lined with plush banquettes and crowned by a ceiling of dangling wisteria and lanterns. Plates are similarly decorative, with many arriving adorned by edible flowers.
There is an extensive selection of all-day cocktails available here, including sweet options like a raspberry beret with Cîroc Red Berry vodka, Mouse Kingdom dark berries liqueur, fresh lemon juice and Monin vanilla syrup, alongside fresh cranberry juice, fresh apple juice and prosecco, alongside more sultry options like a Japanese negroni which adds plum sake to the original recipe.
When it comes to food, diners can start with a choice of more European snacks, such as sourdough, giant olives, avocado hummus with rose harissa and toasted wholemeal pitta, as well as halloumi and Padron peppers. Sushi occupies almost half the a la carte menu here, providing a huge amount of choice. Diners can sample everything from spicy hand-picked Devon crab rolls to kingfish sashimi, or go all-in with the full sushi set.
Elsewhere on small plates you’ll see the likes of panko squid, mushroom croquettes and shrimp tempura. While larger plates include the succulent yuzu lemon chicken, as well as the grilled sea bass and brown shrimp and indulgent lobster mac and cheese. There are also plenty of dessert options to choose from - we like the sound of the milk chocolate caramel delice with peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, topped with peanut praline.
In the mornings, meanwhile, you can expect the likes of pancakes stacks, fry ups, eggs Benedict or granola, with the option of a bloody Mary, mimosa or breakfast martini for those looking for a boozy start to the day. Sunday roasts occur from noon, and those present can enjoy live music from two in the afternoon onwards.
And, if you're planning to visit Victor's in the winter, you have to get a look at their magical winter igloos, which are perfect for small groups, get-togethers with friends or romantic dates!
