South Quay’s shiny Pan Peninsula skyscrapers are topped & tailed by Inc Group venues, from the 48th-floor private-hire Attic bar to ground-floor Tompkins – a homage to New York’s brasseries. With its double-height space, large waterside terrace & eclectic mix of furniture (think 1950s’ sofas beneath Tom Dixon chandeliers), this is as trendy as Docklands gets. Partly geared to residents in the apartments above, it feels a bit like a hotel eatery peddling everything from all-day eggs Benedict or smoked salmon to smart-casual options such as New York strip steak, seafood linguine, crispy duck salad or peach Melba (the menu is more extensive post-6pm). There’s also a very affordable set lunch (£15 for three courses), but prices are eminently reasonable across the board. A well-balanced wine list starts at £18.
