Supper club Chicken of the Woods has graduated to this permanent spot in Crouch End. The intimate 16-seat space is overseen by chef Chris Slaughter, who focuses on using high-quality, fastidiously sourced ingredients. Despite his surname, Slaughter seeks to turn traditional menus on their head, as Through The Wood’s offering is almost entirely vegetarian, bar one ‘high-welfare’ meat option. A set menu is available from Thursday through to Sunday, and you can expect to see dishes such as fennel poached courgettes, and a garden tart with cheese custard.
