A whitewashed, windswept stalwart beside the bay at Little Haven, this inn recently re-opened with a swish new look, a proper wood-burning stove in the bar (great beach views from the window seats)
& a stylish blue-walled dining room with more fine views. Exposed wood & stonework & a mix of leather sofas & solid wood furniture make a pleasant backdrop to cooking that’s a
nicely judged mix of traditional themes & ingredients, presented with panache. Lunchtime snacks include open sandwiches on homemade soda bread, traditional Welsh cawl (a hearty meat &
vegetable soup), or full meals such as roast belly pork with organic black pudding & cider cream followed by roast partridge with mash & Puy lentils. Later in the day there’s a good-value
light supper menu or the full evening menu, which might include creamed cauliflower soup with toasted nuts followed by brill fillets with new potatoes & autumn truffles. Finish with Welsh
cheeses or perhaps pears poached in red wine, served with waffles & vanilla ice cream. The wine list favours France & has a good selection by the glass.
