Situated in the enchanting Audley Mote House village, just two miles from Bearsted and a stone's throw from Maidstone town centre, this exquisite establishment resides in a meticulously restored Grade II listed Georgian mansion. Originally constructed by Daniel Asher Alexander, the mansion coincided with the damming of the River Len, forming a picturesque lake, and the addition of various enhancements, including internal roads, walls, a boathouse, and a bridge over the lake.

Mote House is fondly known as the 'mansion in the park,' and underwent demolition in 1793, before being reconstructed by 1800, and reopening in 2012, featuring the splendid Romney Restaurant within its historic walls. The surrounding village boasts additional gems, such as the Walled Garden, Gatehouse Lodge, and the beautifully restored Brewhouse.
The all day menu is refreshed throughout the year, changing with the seasons. Guests can expect to find starters like Thai crab fish cake with chicory, mango salsa and herb oil, before moving onto mains of teriyaki glazed chalk stream trout with coconut rice, bok choi, pineapple and pomegranate salsa, and dusting off the meal with clementine tart and raspberry sorbet.
