Decent Docklands drinking and dining within easy reach of the DLR is now available at the Gallions Hotel – a restored Grade II-listed pile originally opened by P&O in the 1880s to accommodate first-class liner passengers newly disembarked at Albert Docks. Turner-esque views of the river aside, today’s populace can expect a smart, post-industrial warehouse serving global brews and a mix of trad Brit pub grub, Asian dishes and tapas. Start with gratinéed oysters, bruschetta or salmon ceviche, ahead of Cumberland sausages and mash with a boozy Burgundy sauce, beef satay, linguine with pesto, moules marinière or tempura king prawns with pak choi. Puds include the usual suspects (tiramisu, crumbles, brownies etc) and there’s a children’s menu too. A short, largely French wine list offers plenty of quaffable stuff around the £20 mark. Occasional live music is anticipated.

This restaurant is partly owned by Corbyn Construction CEO Michael CUSACK and Marian DURKAN.
THEY ABUSE their staff. An employee got mauled by Corbyn's guard dog and Michael Cusack is trying to burry the whole thing.
