Public House Group - the team behind The Pelican, The Bull, and The Hero - brings its signature blend of nostalgic charm and culinary finesse to Marylebone with the opening of The Hart. Nestled on the corner of Chiltern Street and Blandford Street, The Hart revives the spirit of a beloved 1840s local, offering a classic British pub experience with a modern, food-led twist.
The Hart is a celebration of British produce, with ingredients sourced from the group’s own Market Garden at Bruern Farms and butchery programme in the Cotswolds. The menu leans into comforting favourites: expect crab cakes, bubble and squeak, steak and potatoes, meatballs and chard, and a Banoffee Pie that’s destined to become a signature. Lighter lunch options like soups, salads, tarts and Kedgeree, all cater to the area’s office crowd. Unlike sister sites like The Hero, the same menu will be served across all floors of The Hart.
Design-wise, The Hart follows the same chic, timber-heavy style as Public House Group's other restaurants. The ground floor channels the warmth of a proper boozer, complete with stained-glass windows, intimate booths and stool-based dining. Upstairs, an open kitchen leads to a refined dining room featuring scalloped banquettes, hand-aged panelling and gas fires, all crafted by the in-house Public House Studio.
Drinks are equally considered, with a strong showing of British beers including Portobello Pilsner, Allsopp’s and DEYA. Whether you’re popping in for a pint and a bag of pork scratchings or settling in for a full meal, The Hart promises a warm welcome and a menu that honours the best of British.
