As a proud member of the esteemed Vintage Inns family, The Harrow guarantees a delightful array of classic pub dishes available throughout the week. With its rustic charm, delightful beer garden, and welcoming roaring fireplace, The Harrow embodies the quintessential essence of a British pub.

Begin your meal at The Harrow with appetisers that promise to satisfy your taste buds. Dive into the salt and pepper calamari served with saffron aioli, enjoy the irresistible sticky crispy chicken paired with chipotle chilli jam, or try the juicy prawns bathed in a Bloody Mary Marie Rose sauce, complemented by fresh avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and sourdough bread. These starters pave the way for a selection of mouthwatering main courses, ranging from an aubergine parmigiana featuring garlic and peppers in a sweet and smoky tomato sauce, topped with herb crumb and mozzarella, served with a side of mixed salad and garlic ciabatta, to a seared fillet of sea bass with a pea and crispy bacon velouté, steamed broccoli, and spring onion mash, not forgetting the indulgent beef and red wine lasagne - a true pub classic.

For those with a sweet tooth, the milk chocolate honey pot is a must-try. This dreamy creation combines velvety chocolate mousse, silky honey, and crunchy honeycomb, served alongside a buttery biscuit and honeycomb ice cream — a symphony of sweet flavours and scrumptious textures.

The Harrow’s bar has an impressive selection of beverages, from locally crafted hand-pulled ales and ciders to the timeless appeal of classic cocktails. Catering to all tastes, a thoughtfully curated assortment of soft beverages and mocktails ensures that every guest finds a fitting refreshment.

Understaffed and disappointing

The pub was caught off guard and didn't have enough staff for the amount of walk ins. The waiting staff did their best. It's not their fault management don't want to pay for more staff. Consequently starter still hadn't arrived 30 minutes later when it did it was warmish not hot. Fish was dry as a bone and chips were greasy. Shame as food is usually good. So understaffed in the kitchen too. Management stop penny pinching and get your act together.

The Idle Rocks is the perfect setting for dinner, a complete escape to relax and enjoy gorgeous Cornish food overlooking the harbour of St Mawes. Chef Guy always takes time to come and talk us through the lovely ingredients on the plate, it is clearly really important to him and the hotel to look after suppliers and source locally as much as possible.
