This sequel to chef Tom Oldroyd’s eponymous Islington restaurant finds its home in the Hackney premises that were most recently The Richmond gastropub (and have been a pub since 1841). The kitchen turns out a menu of French-accented food, with dishes including the likes of lamb sweetbread and asparagus vol-au-vent, and lamb en croute with green beans and garlic butter. Desserts include crème brûlée custard tart, while the bar serves up beers and ciders, alongside a European wine list and classic cocktails. Sundays are a big focus here too, with an all-day roast and rotisserie menu available, and there’s a terrace for when the sun shines.
