Brought to you by the team behind MAP Maison, La Bibliotheque serves a range of dishes peppered with Mediterranean and Japanese influence in a upscale restaurant with old-world charm. Open from brunch through to late night dining, it is well suited to everything from relaxed lunches and champagne bottomless brunch to date nights and special occasions.
Inside, the space feels warm and intimate, with low lighting and a design that blends style elements of a French bistro with Japanese detailing. A central bar and whisky library form the heart of the room, with backlit shelves creating a soft glow. Countertop seating runs alongside the bar, offering a closer view of the kitchen, while velvet chairs and dark wood tables add comfort and texture. Lantern style lighting casts a soft, ambient light, and decorative touches including a double bass give the space a slightly theatrical feel. A small outdoor terrace provides additional seating in warmer weather.
Menus change seasonally and span lunch, an evening a la carte and set options, alongside a tapas style afternoon tea. The kitchen combines Mediterranean ingredients with Japanese techniques, resulting in dishes that feel balanced and carefully composed. Dishes include starters such as beef tartare, seared ahi tuna and spiced flatbread and mains including miso poached hake, ribeye steak and king oyster mushroom with beetroot glaze.
Desserts bring together classic and more inventive elements, with options such as blue matcha Basque cheesecake, yuzu posset with shortbread and lemon curd, and including panna cotta.
The drinks offering is a key part of the experience, with a curated wine list spanning Europe and beyond, alongside a strong focus on sake, including sparkling, chilled and room temperature options. Cocktails feature Japanese inspired flavours, with serves such as the Sasu Saab and Perception of Beauty.
