The Cellar Door Edinburgh, is a stylish contemporary restaurant serving lunch, dinner and drinks. You can pick from the a la carte menu, or the six-course taste of Scotland menu, which has been carefully designed using quality ingredients and local suppliers.

The Cellar Door a la carte menu includes many locally inspired dishes such as Loch Duart cured salmon, and veggie haggis parcel to start. Main courses include dishes such as Scotch Ribeye Steak served with confit tomatoes and hand cut chips and catch of the day served with wild garlic and shrimp butter sauce.

The six-course taste of Scotland menu looks really special and includes both a meat and vegetarian version. Dishes include Tempura Shetland mussels with red pepper salsa and fennel jelly, and Ayrshire pork belly served with black pudding puree, pork croquette and a mustard jus. Vegetarian dishes include pea and courgette risotto, roasted heritage carrots, and a veggie haggis parcel. All dishes include added extras such as a gin fizz, and a chef’s sorbet palette cleanser.

Each course can be served with paired wines for an additional charge, as well as little extras such as a local cheeseboard and a ruby port.

If you have a sweet tooth, you will enjoy many of the favourites on the dessert menu such as sticky toffee pudding served with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. There is also a custard tart served with poached rhubarb, and a selection of ice cream.

The Cellar Door has a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits.

Are there vegetarian options on the menu?

Portion sizes disappointing

Food was very nice but the portions were tiny.  One of our party had the salmon starter which comprised of one cracker with what looked like a tablespoon of smoked salmon mousse with one grape on top and three slices of a radish on a very large plate but with no other garnish, the plate only accentuated just how small the portion was. My starter was supposed to be Haggis bon bons with mash potato, I got one 'samosa' with haggis in it and there was a teaspoon of mash under it to stop it sliding on the plate Same with the mains, just as well we ordered some chips on the side to try and fill up on but we still all left feeling hungry. I felt it was over priced for what we had. The restaurant itself was busy and vibrant and the service was good
