If you're looking for a restaurant with a certain something for your next meal out in Tottenham, make sure to check out The Banc. Re-developed on what was once the site of a Barclays Bank, the team chose to reference the space's original use in its name, with a unique twist. The concept is all about night-time glamour with a 21 and over age limit and dress code of smart casual. The team say they've tried to bring together a sense of 'swagger' from the 'Golden eras' of years goneby, alongside a buzzing, London energy.
Inside, the decor very much reflects this vibe with richly-hued furnishings and atmospheric lighting. Think booths of dark purple and life-sized faux cherry blossom trees, which are a real feature in the space. Perfect for intimate dates, meeting a group of friends or even a birthday meal, there's a mix of seating to suit a variation of party sizes.
The Banc's second space is the alfresco, all-weather lounge. Here, the retractable roof offers a suntrap in the summer months, and cover (with added heaters) in the winter. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shisha menu and laze the days away.
As for the food, the menu is extensive and spans a range of different dishes. To start with, why not enjoy smaller plates like pan Asian chicken lollipops, wagyu beef sliders on charcoal buns and salt and pepper baby squid. If you're a fan of street food, dabble between the bao buns stuffed with pulled beef brisket, spicy buttermilk chicken or Asian-style prawns, as well as tacos laden with seabass ceviche, and minced chicken with guac.
If you're after a large plate, we like the sound of the fusion grill which comes with two chicken thighs, a lamb fillet, lamb chop and is served with French beans. While the oven baked salmon comes with pea puree, creamy saffron sauce and cherry jam caviar, and will keep pescatarians more than happy. As for dessert, take a look at the Nutella cheesecake, or enjoy a signature cocktail.
