A long-standing feature of Upper Richmond Road, this cheap, cheery Thai café has loosened its links with the neighbouring supermarket with which it shares a name, but there seems to be little change in either establishment. The restaurant’s chef has been in situ for 10 years & though she may be best known for her noodle dishes – the yen ta fo (egg noodles with seafood, fish balls, water-spinach & tofu) is particularly fine, as is the classic pad thai – the beef salad & the stir-fried seafood with jungle hot chilli are worth a taste too. Service is fast & efficient, but sometimes lacks the charm of other Thai establishments. You’d be hard pushed to spend £20 a head here, though, so it seems churlish to complain.
