The trend for Peruvian food is proving no flash in the pan, and this Fitzrovia restaurant combines founder Yuko Gil’s passion for her adopted cuisine (Gil is Japanese while her husband is Peruvian) with the principles of oh-so-now healthy eating. Pisqu’s head chef is William Ortiz, who has worked at The Savoy, The Dorchester, The Berkeley and, most recently, at his older brother Robert’s restaurant, Lima. In fact Pisqu is on the same road as Lima, offering a menu which takes in lunch and dinner dishes including ceviches, anticuchos and superfood salads. Popular dishes include hot ceviche, grilled octopus, inca corncake, and Chicharron. Sit up at the copper-topped pisco bar to see the chefs at work while you nibble on tiraditos with a Pisco Sour, or take a seat in the long, light-filled dining room and watch the shoppers rushing by as you sip a Peruvian beer.

Super delicious dinner

Our assistant booked this for a business dinner. We got blown away by the food, flavors and presentation. Service was outstanding too. We got the private vault and this gave us more privacy. corn cake and octopus and peruvian wine wonderful.

Stunning and truly exceptional food and service

We had the most amazing experience. new peruvian restaurant in london and the best in the city after trying them all. Ceviche and amaranth salad were marvellous. Favourite mains were the scallops, vegetarian ceviche. first time having a peruvian wine which was lovely. could not get enough of the cocktails, priced well for Fitzrovia. will be returning!

The best ceviche in London

First time I came across this was after dining at Pied a Terre, I saw their cool bar so we decided to go in and have a pisco sour for the road. We returned for dinner and this is now top of my list of favourite restaurants. the food is exceptional and beautiful, the wines are interesting too and the service is absolutely outstanding. Strongly recommended

Exquisite cooking, wonderfully presented>

Wonderfull experience with the staff very attentive, nothing too much bother. All request, met to perfection. I felt special. The dishes tried were divine. Loved the Octopus and yuca croquettes as starters. The Lomo saltado was the best for me, amazingly tasty. What particularly impressed me was their unique wine list with included two Peruvians. I noticed Japanese crockery, so an interesting combination. I couldn't get a table but sat at the counter with a lively atmosphere. Did not have room for dessert, but people next to me could not stop talking the chocolate dish. Well run place, taking care of all customers needs. Look forward to our next visit.

Nice enough room in a good location, but either hopelessly understaffed or just hopeless. One of the slowest lunches, and the food was frankly not really worth the wait.

Peruvian excellence food and drinks

Had dinner with large group of friends. Food is awesome, wonderful hard to explain flavours. Fine dining in many ways. Service was first class. Enjoyed the octopus and corncake/avocado. Chilcano de Pisco cocktail is a must!. very reassured to taste quality ingredients, hence an upmarket style priced reasonably. At friend's recommendation we went there for the experience. very different to other peruvian joins which are fast-food or don't focus on quality. will be back.

Disappointing!

We booked a set meal offer. The ceviche starter was good but our main courses were disappointing. Mine was rather dry overcooked seafood - with chips and my partner had beef which was apparently nice, served with rice AND chips! Both mains could have done with some veg or salad. Less stodge and less grease would have been good. Service was fine. Decor a bit messy! Won't go again. Sorry

Really poor, slow service, the staff really didn't seem to know what they were doing . There were 3 tables filled and it took 45 mins to get a drink ( a juice) glass half full for which we were charged £6!!!! . Good ok but underflavoured . Will not be returning

Impressive Peruvian gastronomy and service.

Thank you Pisqu for bringing your gastronomy and brand to London. This place rocks. The food is out of this world. Very healthy overall with ingredients from the Amazon and the Peruvian mountains. Presentation is spotless. Fine dining presentation in a relaxed ambience.The place is smart, simple minimalist in decoration. Don't expect the overused fast-food offering and format of other peruvian restaurants in London with its now outdated tiny sharing dishes. This place is the opposite. Exquisite food and service with nobody rushing you to free up the table. We were a party of 14 of various backgrounds. We all agreed in saying that we had the best dinner of the year. It was that good! Try their signature dish Lomo a Parrilla in pachamanca sauce and their now famous Corn grain cake!. The pisco sours are done in shakers, as opposed to blenders. Their wine list is good and well priced. We spotted a couple of celebrities going to the private dining area downstairs. agree with the other reviewer that the place seems popular with local crowd and city bankers. We will be back for the pisco sour masterclass. Friends have done it and strongly recommended it.

City boy finds an authentic Peruvian restaurant at last in trendy Fitzrovia

Having visited Peru on business several times and tasted real Peruvian food I had been disappointed by peruvian offering in London which are not really Peruvian and I have visited them all. However, I came across Pisqu when I read on the Evening Standard that the Maestro of Peruvian and Amazonian cuisine William Ortiz has made a partnership with ex-City Fund Manager and formed Pisqu. I have been with family and just had a business dinner for investment banking clients and we were all delighted with the food and ambience. Beware they are busy and securing a booking in their busy days could be difficult -it was when i tried to book. The place is elegant, simple and unpretentious. Looks popular with media pretty girls and also City types as i could hear them around. Not a bad thing of course, just a bit of GS elevator straight to hell type of gossip gets buzzy at the bar. The best Pisco sours in London too. Again, the food is unbelievable and excellent value.
