Seniors wins best chip-shop crown

Seniors best fish and chip shop 2012 - Brit_fish_and_Chip_shop_winners_Seafare.jpgCongratulations to Seniors, in Lancashire, which was named Best British Fish and Chip Shop 2012 at the 24th annual National Fish and Chip Awards, held in London on 17 January 2012.

Richard Corrigan presented owners Alastair and Dominic Horabin (pictured) with the title and commended the winners for ‘combining heritage, innovation and great produce’ and displaying skill and attention to detail.

Alastair Horabin (left) said: ‘This is an honour beyond our wildest dreams. We've had the same management with us since we started in 2006 and our success is thanks to their hard work, passion and dedication. I'm overjoyed for them all and I'm proud to be their boss.’

Second place went to Hanbury’s in Devon, while Quayside, in Whitby, came third. The finalist for London and the South-East was Seafare, in Guildford.
