What: This opulent Mayfair Chinese is modelled on a 1930s Shanghai speakeasy and doesn’t come cheap. However, we reckon the fantastic dumplings are worth indulging in, with options ranging from a summer truffle variety to fillings of scallops and vegetables.

What: Diners practically sit on each other’s laps at this tiny dumpling den, but it’s worth going for the dessert dumplings alone. On our visit, we took a shine to the sweet-as-can-be matcha tea and white chocolate variety, but there’s also a blueberry option which comes smothered in crème fraiche.
