Fans of Pokémon rejoice, as a bar themed around the popular Japanese cartoon is coming to London.
This September, Pokebar will open its doors in the capital for one night only, at an as yet undisclosed location in Brixton.
The bar will offer Pokémon fanatics the chance to enjoy a live version of cult mobile phone game Pokémon Go, while they chow down on a selection of food and drinks inspired by the hit show.
The pop-up’s most Instagrammable dish will surely be its burgers, which are shaped like popular Pokémon, including a bright orange burger that is filled with chicken and has been dubbed the Chargrilled-mander, after character Charmander. We expect the most popular burger though, will be the Porkachu – a yellow bun stuffed with pork and completed by two tortilla chips that resemble Pikachu’s ears.
Vegetarians can join in on the fun too, thanks to a meat-free Bulb Burger, while a selection of rainbow-coloured themed cocktails will include an Ivysour, a Charizard Fireball, a Bulbasaur Martini, a Snorlax Blue Chill and a Pikachu Paradise.
You will be challenged to ‘catch ‘em all’ when the bar opens, with guests being split up into four teams, partaking in a range of activities including Pokémon hunts and card battles, before one team is crowned the Master Trainer.
Music will be provided by a roster of live DJs, while there’s also a ballpit full of Pokeballs to dive in to, and a ‘best dressed’ prize to compete for, for those who want to look the part.
The family-friendly event can accommodate children, but everyone under the age of 21 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Pokebar opens in London on 13 September 2019, for one night only. Tickets for the event are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, and you can sign up for tickets at thepokebarpopup.com
