Arcade Food Hall by JKS: A guide to all the restaurants you need to know

Dining destination Arcade Food Theatre has been given a facelift and relaunch from the owners of some of London’s best restaurants.

The JKS Group, which is responsible for brands like Taiwanese bun house Bao and Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Gymkhana are reinventing the space in a relaunch project completed in April 2022.

At the reinvented venue - which will now go by the name Arcade Food Hall (dropping the much-mocked 'theatre' element) - there will be eight new kitchens, an independent restaurant up on the mezzanine level, outdoor seating, bars, and counter dining.

The team explains that the venue showcases global cuisines and flavours, and is a base to champion emerging food and drink talent. From Thai curries and Japanese sushi through to Middle Eastern shawarma and American-style burgers, the offering is far-reaching.

The space is the first of its kind in London, where guests can order directly from the eight different kitchens to have their food delivered to their tables. This service is also replicated in a ‘digital food hall’ format, where customers can purchase different items from each of the eight kitchens but collect everything in just one order.

Jyotin Sethi from JKS Restaurants commented 'We’re delighted to finally reveal the new Arcade at Centre Point. We’ve always had the aspiration to create a venue that hosts a breadth of creative new brands as well as fostering up and coming talent within the hospitality industry. Arcade is the perfect space for us to do this, both with the physical site and through London’s first digital food hall.'

Which restaurants are at Arcade Food Hall?

JKS Restaurants has announced the line-up for Arcade Food Hall, and it's pretty amazing. There are some big-hitters on this list, with a huge range of cuisines on offer. It's got everything from coffee and pastries to private omakase dining. Here's the full list.

Plaza Khao Gaeng

Chef Luke Farrell, who previously ran a banh mi shop and did a stint at JKS' Michelin-starred Trishna, was chosen to have a hand in the first restaurants selected. His first opening will be Plaza Khao Gaeng, a Southern Thai restaurant. Khao gaeng roughly translates as ‘curry over rice’ which nods to what guests can expect. The menu will be packed with thick coconut curries and searingly hot stir-fries. Gaeng gati is a fragrant chicken and coconut curry with betel leaf while the stir-fries will change seasonally. Think prawns with sator beans and shrimp paste.

Bebek! Bebek!

Bebek! Bebek!, Luke Farrell's second opening at Arcade, will focus on the food of Indonesia. Here things are modelled on the popular hawker stalls with the full drama of charcoal cookery in play. Satay grilled over coals is sure to be popular, as is the bebek goreng fried duck.

Both of Farrell's openings at Arcade will use produce from his Nursery in Dorset.

Hero

Indian fast food is certainly in right now, and Hero is a great place for it. Expect punchy flavours, velvety sauces and crunchy toppings. Signature dishes will include BBQ butter chicken pao, wagyu keema pao and masala fries chaat.

Shatta & Toum

Shatta & Toum comes from Berenjak founder Kian Samyani, so you know you can expect some tip-top grilling here. Expect khobez bread, packed with delicious grilled meats including chicken shawarma and marinated lamb doner. Signature dishes will include wraps, hatay tepsi kebabs and sigara borek.

Saborcito

Michelin-starred Sabor's little sister will feature tapas and daily seafood specials. The countertop seafood display will feature oysters, scallops, prawns, clams and more. You can eat the food from Saborcito in the main food hall or at the counter for the full experience. Signature dishes will include pulpo a la gallega, arroz negro, tuna empanadilla and crisp fried squid bocadillo.

Manna

It wouldn't be a food hall without some burgers, and Manna will be serving up just that. The restaurant has been developed by Bake Street's Feroz Gajia and JKS Restaurants (so you know it's gonna be good). Signature dishes will include Nashville hot tenders, 'hot one' smashed burgers and jalapeno popper fried chicken buns.

Sushi Kamon

Coming from JKS and Yashin Sushi, Sushi Kamon will offer a weekly sushi menu as well as an eight-seat omakase counter, where the chefs will prepare a tailored menu in front of your eyes. The omakase experience will last an hour and only cost £45. Signature dishes will include a tempura prawn and kumquat sushi sando, chirashi bowls and fossil prawn crackers.

Arcade Provisions

Arcade Provisions will be a sandwich shop and bakery open from 8 am. Here you'll be able to munch on sandwiches from the team behind Rochelle Canteen, a range of seasonal pastries and coffee from Origins. Later in the day, this will become Provisions Lates, where you'll be able to sip on negronis into the evening.

Benham & Froud Jelladrome by Bompas & Parr

If you haven't heard of Bompas and Parr, you're missing out. These gastro-scientists create bizarre confections that will blow your mind. Benham & Froud, the jelly brand, will be serving up architectural trifles and boozy jelly shots. Signature dishes will include a gin and lemon verbena architectural trifle and a marmalade and toast penny lick.

Arcade Bar

Finishing off this stellar cast of culinary residents is a central bar that will shift into different modes throughout the day. Signature drinks here will include a som tam mojito, yuzu sake bomb and nitro martini.

When did Arcade Food Hall open?

Arcade Food Hall opened on 22 April 2022, but booking opened on the 8th.
