Located on Queen Street in Leeds, Nesso is a fantastic Italian coffee spot that transforms into an evening wine bar, showcasing a beautiful menu from dusk until dawn. The coffee used in your cup will be 100% single origin arabica coffee, and bakes come beautifully homemade. Open seven days a week, this relaxed yet refined spot is the perfect location to while away a couple of hours with some good food.
For brunch, there's a bunch of gorgeous options, from your more classic dishes to the inventive. Try the baked olive focaccia topped with creamy ricotta cheese, mortadella ham and pesto drizzle, or Nesso's Italian version of a shakshuka – with two poached eggs cooked in a tomato sauce, hollandaise, cheese, anchovies, grana padano and toasted pugliese bread. The brioche maple cured bacon bap is stuffed with creamy ricotta for a sweet and savoury combo, and there's a ham benedict with toasted bread, a baked poached egg, ham and marinara sauce.
If you prefer sweet treats, order the Nesso French toast, a warm panettone slice drizzled with maple syrup, mixed berries and served with an ice cream on top. More suitable for a lunch treat, there's a dish of Italian meatballs in tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella with pesto and tomato on an open toasted sandwich, and baked falafel. Later in the day, settle down with a warm drink and scrumptious dessert. There's a luxury tiramisu, cannoli stuffed with pistachios and ricotta, and the cheesecake of the day. Crostone options include ham and cheese and smoked salmon with cheese.
If you want to enjoy the barista mastery of Nesso, but aren't a coffee drinker, order the signature pink beetroot latte, with a creamy texture and subtly sweet earthiness.
