Mavi Ruya celebrates the rich flavours and traditions of Anatolian cuisine, bringing an authentic taste of Turkey to Sheffield. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner, the restaurant combines recipes inspired by generations of Turkish cooking with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it a popular choice for family meals, birthday celebrations, romantic dinners and group gatherings.
The menu spans everything from leisurely Turkish breakfasts to charcoal-grilled specialities and generous sharing feasts. Mornings begin with a traditional sharing breakfast featuring cheeses, olives, grapes, tahini, molasses, Turkish sausage and eggs, alongside breakfast favourites including a full English.
Throughout the day, guests can start with cold meze such as hummus, babaganoush, stuffed vine leaves and mixed olives or hot starters including sigara borek, pan-fried prawns, garlic mushrooms and calamari. Main courses showcase the restaurant’s charcoal grill with chicken shish, lamb chops, chicken wings and mixed grill platters, while house specials include kebabs served with Turkish croutons and rich tomato sauce, alongside lamb moussaka, sea bass fillet and vegetarian dishes.
Sharing platters, set menus and a dedicated children’s menu featuring dishes like mini chicken shish with chips make it easy to cater for groups of all sizes, while desserts such as baklava, lemon and mascarpone cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding provide a sweet finish.
The interiors have been thoughtfully designed to reflect traditional Turkish craftsmanship, with decorative floor tiles, statement lantern lighting and other furnishings sourced from Turkey. Dark wooden tables, comfortable upholstered seating and elegant room dividers create cosy dining spaces, while large windows flood the restaurant with natural light.
The drinks menu includes Turkish rose alongside a selection of red, white and sparkling wines, beers, ciders, spirit mixers and soft drinks, as well as cocktails such as margaritas, daiquiris, martinis and Aperol Spritz. Mocktails, hot drinks and non-alcoholic beers and wines ensure there’s something for every preference.
