About

Perched on the 11th floor of The St Clement just off the Strand, Lunette is the debut solo restaurant from chef Florence Knight, one of the most respected names in contemporary British cooking. Following acclaimed roles at Polpetto and Sessions Arts Club, Knight brings her own distinct vision to this intimate central London dining room, pairing meticulous technique with a quietly confident approach to hospitality.

Named after the crescent-shaped windows of the former Aldwych Underground station nearby, Lunette reflects Knight's preference for refinement without formality. The restaurant is designed as a relaxed and immersive space, centred around a large communal dining table that encourages conversation and conviviality, alongside a handful of smaller tables. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light while offering sweeping views across the capital, creating a setting that feels both elevated and welcoming.

The food follows a tasting-menu format and showcases the style of cooking for which Knight has become known. Seasonal ingredients are treated with precision and restraint, allowing carefully balanced flavours to take centre stage. Menus evolve regularly throughout the year, reflecting the best available produce and the chef's instinctive approach to seasonality. Diners can expect dishes that combine technical skill with an apparent simplicity, whether that's delicate seafood, beautifully judged sauces or desserts that favour elegance over excess. Across the menu, there's a consistent sense of clarity, lightness and attention to detail.

While the cooking is undoubtedly ambitious, Lunette avoids the stiff atmosphere that can sometimes accompany fine dining. Hospitality forms a central part of the experience, with Knight drawing on years spent working alongside some of London's most influential restaurateurs to create a restaurant that feels approachable as well as accomplished.

For those familiar with Knight's previous work, Lunette offers the purest expression yet of her culinary philosophy. For everyone else, it's a chance to experience thoughtful, seasonal cooking from one of Britain's most distinctive chefs in a striking setting above the streets of central London.
