Little Hollows Pasta is a cosy neighbourhood pasta restaurant located on Chandos Road in the leafy suburb of Redland, Bristol. What began as a market stall and home delivery service by self-taught chef Chris Davis has grown into a full-service restaurant, now recognised by the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand. The focus here is on freshly made pasta crafted daily in-house, paired with seasonal ingredients and served in an unfussy, welcoming setting. It is ideal for low-key dinners, casual lunches, or small celebrations with friends and family.
The restaurant occupies a modest space with a simple yet charming interior. Wooden floors, whitewashed walls and unclothed wooden tables create a laid-back atmosphere that feels both modern and rustic. The front window and rear skylights fill the space with natural light during the day, while candles and mellow jazz set a relaxed mood in the evening. There is indoor seating for around 30 guests, while a peaceful garden at the rear offers space for another 20 during warmer months. A glass-fronted pasta drying cabinet near the entrance provides a visual nod to the kitchen’s craft.
Little Hollows' menu centres on handmade pasta with a modern Italian sensibility. Dishes might include agnolotti filled with roasted tomato and mascarpone, tagliatelle with pistachio and mint pesto, or rich pappardelle with slow-cooked beef shin ragu. A few antipasti and small plates are available, such as burrata with seasonal fruit or focaccia with whipped ricotta. Desserts stay true to the theme with a pistachio tiramisu or poached peach with mascarpone.
The drinks list highlights local producers, with wines available by the glass or bottle and beers from Left Handed Giant and Lost & Grounded. There are also house cocktails and a small deli counter selling fresh pasta and sauces to take away.
