Le Village Thai is a Thai restaurant in the heart of Brighton headed up by husband-and-wife duo Andy and Tai, who hail from Bangkok and north east Thailand. Their restaurant was born out of a desire to bring properly authentic Thai cooking to the south coast, offering dishes with individual flare and served with warmth and passion. Le Village Thai offers indoor dining in the main restaurants, as well as a great outdoor space for enjoying its vibrant dishes during the summer. It’s open six days a week for dinner, with an extra lunch sitting on Fridays and Saturdays.
The food menu features a selection of starters, soups, noodles, rice dishes and specials. Expect plenty of classics along with exciting signature dishes, from spring rolls and chicken satay, to spicy squash fritters with lemongrass and a peanut sauce. All its mains can be ordered with chicken, pork, beef or king prawns for a fixed price, while vegetable and tofu options make this a great spot for vegetarian and vegan diners. Look out for dishes such as Village Bad Boy, a spicy stir fry with chilli, garlic, green beans, peppers and basil, and the Vampire Killer which is heavy on the garlic and finished with aubergine, ginger and basil. For traditionalists, green, red and panang curries are also available.
Do spare a moment for its specials where you can try the likes of pineapple and cashew fried rice, deep fried sea bass, crispy roasted duck with a tamarind sauce and a classic Massaman beef curry.
For affordable food, a relaxed and friendly vibe and dishes that everyone will like, you probably can’t go far wrong with Le Village Thai. Find it just off St James’ Street.
