My friend has just moved into Tufnell Park , so we thought we'd check this well recommended local restaurant out.
I have to say the place is fantastic. It has a wonderful feel to it, the interior is very retro , I would say 1930s at a guess , the ceiling is a real feature.
The menu is compact , but well thought out and presented on a chalk board, apparently this changes weekly .the food was divine , well presented with some classic and unusual ( seasonal?) ingredients.
We had rump of lamb, which was cooked 2 ways with monks beard and Jerusalem artichoke and a huge piece of sea trout with mussels and trout eggs. Dessert was also very good , a crime brûlée made with Tonka bean instead of vanilla, which was a good twist on a classic.a well thought out wine list in addition to the great food and service made this a really memorable meal.
