Jo & Co is an independent restaurant in Hove, known for its all-day dining and brunch-led menu inspired by Australian and New Zealand cafe culture. It’s a popular spot for everything from relaxed breakfasts to group catch-ups, with a genuinely family-friendly feel.
From the outside, a dark blue facade sets the tone, leading into a light, airy interior with wooden floors and an open layout. One section has a glass ceiling, giving it a conservatory-style feel, while floral-patterned wallpaper, greenery and pops of yellow run throughout. Yellow leather booth seating with patterned cushions and neon signage add a playful touch.
The menu centres around brunch, with a mix of classic and more inventive dishes. Expect a full English, a range of Benedicts, hashes and shakshuka, alongside plates like spicy veggie cornbread. Sweet options include hot Belgian waffles, brioche French toast and Jo’s creme brulee. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are well represented and mimosas, Bellinis or fizz can be added to enhance the celebratory experience.
The all-day menu builds on this, with starters such as Greek flatbreads with red pepper and jalapeno hummus, deep-fried calamari or baked brie. Mains range from minute steak and fries to fish pie, bangin' chicken and crispy spiced cauliflower, alongside a selection of salads, sandwiches, burgers and sides.
Desserts include chocolate fudge brownie and Eton mess sundae, while drinks span teas, coffees, juices, wines, mocktails and cocktails such as espresso martinis and picante margaritas.
A dedicated children’s menu makes it easy for families, with options such as flatbread with hummus and crunchy vegetables, cheesy beans on toast, egg and chips or sausage and chips, followed by strawberries or ice cream. Kids’ juices and soft drinks are also available.
