The latest addition to the burgeoning Jamies chain is perfectly positioned at the foot of the iconic Shard, within walking distance of London Bridge station – no wonder it’s a shoo-in for lunchtime meetings, post-work chill-outs and good-time evening get-togethers in a bright setting of striped fabrics, polished floors and varnished woodwork. Sandwiches, sharing platters and burgers are fixtures of the menu, but you can also graze on chorizo and sweet potato croquettes, duck pancakes with hoisin sauce or Swaledale goats’ cheese with caramelised walnuts and mixed beets. Otherwise, go the whole hog with a plate of fish and chips, garlicky roast chicken or an 8oz rib-eye with all the trimmings. To drink, expect a full quota of beers, cocktails and a wide-ranging, easy-to-follow wine list with some inspired ’off-piste’ and ‘serendipity’ selections – plus a cracking choice by the glass.
