Giggling Squid Leeds brings a vibrant slice of Thailand to the heart of the city, located on Park Row in a stunning Grade II-listed former bank building. This is the largest site in the Giggling Squid family, and it’s every bit as bold and beautiful as you’d expect - floral wallpapers, banquette seating, and dazzling lighting create a warm, whimsical setting that’s perfect for everything from casual lunches to celebratory dinners.
Founded by Pranee and Andy Laurillard, Giggling Squid began in a fisherman’s cottage in Brighton and has grown into a beloved national brand. The Leeds team continues that legacy with expert Thai chefs and a front-of-house crew known for their warmth and hospitality.
The menu is a joyful celebration of Thai cuisine, designed around the concept of sharing. Starters include steamed pork dumplings, chicken satay skewers, and the fisherman’s feast—a platter of soft shell crab, crispy squid, salt and pepper squid, and zingy papaya salad. Mains range from comforting classics like pad thai and green curry to more adventurous options such as lamb shank massaman and duck confit with tamarind sauce. Nearly half the menu is meat-free, with standout vegetarian dishes like creamy vegetable paneang and chilli and basil stir fry. Sides like garlic pepper steamed noodles and golden brown roti round out the feast.
Drinks are equally enticing, with exotic Thai spirits, wines, and cocktails like the mango chilli mosquito - a mojito-style mix with Mekhong rum, mango, pineapple, lime, and a cheeky chilli kick. Whether you’re popping in after a day of shopping or gathering with friends for a Thai-style banquet, Giggling Squid Leeds offers a colourful, flavour-packed experience that’s as much about joy and connection as it is about food.
