About

If you’re exploring Worthing for the first time and looking for a dining experience that really lifts the lid on this vibrant, seaside town, Ebb is the perfect place to book. Its home takes the form of a Grade II-listed Southern Pavilion perched atmospherically on the very end of Worthing Pier with gorgeous watery views running from the Isle of Wight to the Seven Sisters.

Sunsets here are magical, so it’s an awe-inspiring place for a date or a celebration, such as birthdays, anniversaries or just a special night out with friends. What makes it even more special, though, is the exclusive nature of this spot. Running only 36 covers, three nights and two lunches a week, tables have been known to go very fast so you’ll definitely want to book ahead. Let’s just say, it feels like a place to be.

Staying true to its roots, Ebb concentrates on sourcing brilliant local produce and letting it shine. The menu changes most weeks so don’t get too attached but, generally speaking, kicks off with snacks like homemade focaccia with whipped butter, a playful take on prawn cocktail crisps topped with whipped cod’s roe and Gordal olives, before moving onto smaller sharing plates.

Seafood is certainly a focus with options like Chalk Stream trout served alongside nutbourne tomato and burnt chive, as well as butter poached halibut with crispy cheek and warm tartare sauce. The Trenchmore wagyu sirloin with roasted onion and bordelaise sauce also sounds great, as does the wild garlic and spring pea rigatoni. On the side, you might try the likes of hispi cabbage in aged cheddar custard or confit potatoes, ricotta and wild garlic.

But, that’s not all. Desserts are worth delving into with Valrhona 40% milk chocolate, whisky cake and mint ice cream leading the way, though Tonka bean soft serve with whey caramel and warm honey madeleines peaks the interest, too.
