About

Dishoom’s Borough outpost brings the group’s much-loved homage to Bombay to the historic Hop Exchange - a Grade II-listed Victorian landmark tucked just moments from Borough Market. Occupying the West Wing of the former trading hall, the spacious café spans two floors and continues the restaurant group’s tradition of drawing inspiration from the food, culture and character of Mumbai’s iconic Irani cafés.

As with every Dishoom, the design is underpinned by an original backstory. Here, the narrative takes inspiration from Bombay’s famous Crawford Market and the city’s Parsi theatre scene, celebrating the spirit of bustling marketplaces where people from all walks of life come together. Interiors, created in collaboration with long-time design partners Macaulay Sinclair, draw on evocative details from Bombay’s markets, blending Victorian architectural details with references to spice merchants, trading halls and the improvised character of traditional market stalls.

Open from breakfast through to late evening, Dishoom Borough serves the restaurant's trademark menu of Bombay comfort food. Expect the iconic breakfast menu to return, alongside an all-day offering of small plates, grills, biryanis, rolls, curries and sharing feasts designed for groups. Exclusive to this site is the Keralan Pepper Chicken, featuring slow-roasted spiced chicken served with a coconut and curry leaf sauce, Malabar paratha and onion salad.

The drinks list follows Dishoom’s established formula, encompassing house chai, cooling non-alcoholic refreshments, cocktails and a considered wine selection. Borough also offers a venue-exclusive cocktail, the Black and Thunder Flip, which combines Johnnie Walker Black Label with Thums Up cola, cinnamon, cream and nutmeg.

While the thoughtful interiors provide plenty of interest, the warm hospitality, reliably delicious food and sense of occasion for which Dishoom has become known remain at the heart of the experience, making Dishoom Borough a fitting addition to one of London’s busiest food neighbourhoods.
