Call Coya Mayfair Pisco Lounge to make a booking on:
For a cut-price taste of posh Piccadilly Peruvian restaurant, Coya Mayfair, head for its buzzy Latin American-style bar. Pisco Sour, made with Peru’s national spirit (a grape brandy produced in copper pot stills), appears in various faultless flavoured renditions such as lemongrass or fig and anise. Also appealing are premium pisco disco drinks, sweet and sour Slings, fiery Mules and punchy Margaritas. Ditto, a Japanese-Peruvian tiki-mug muddle of Barsol acholado pisco, yuzu saké, sencha green tea syrup and lemon. Try also Coya’s Lost In Translation (Illegal mezcal, sweet vermouth and Aperol). The flavoursome bar snacks served here are essentially a portion-controlled version of the main menu’s greatest hits: sea bass spring rolls and saffron mayo; various ocean-fresh ceviche; and velvety, melt-in-the-mouth beef fillet with shallots and hot bell peppers. Service is on the ball and overall presentation is beautiful – courtesy of Peru’s most fashionable son, celeb-snapper ‘Super’ Mario Testino.
