CORE is located in the City of London, and is easy to get to from St Paul's, Bank and Mansion House stations. So, if you find yourself on a trip to London, want a delicious after work dinner or need to impress some colleagues with a working lunch, why not visit CORE. There are great deals on at lunch, and a good variety of dishes on the menu.
First on the menus are the sharers, including the sharer for two with chicken wings with sweet piquanté pepper sauce, peri-peri chicken skewers, Ibérico ham croquettes with miso mayo, garlic bread, slow-roasted tomatoes and mixed olives, crispy shredded chicken with a mango, pineapple and chilli dressing, and salt and pepper seasoned fries with chilli and spring onion – wowza! Small plates are perfect for sharing, too, but also double up as starters and can be excellent side dishes. The peppadew bites are filled with cream cheese and coated with a light, crispy panko-style crumb, the crispy chicken bao buns with chilli jam, and hand battered goujons with tartar sauce.
Burgers are served in a soft glazed bun, with miso mayo, lettuce, chopped pickle and onion, and with skin on fries. You can choose from a bacon cheeseburger, vegan sheese, veggie, breaded chicken or Italian-style chicken. Sandwiches are great for lunch, and include the plant power option with avocado, red pepper and sesame houmous, slow roasted tomatoes, sweet and sour pickled onion, cucumber ribbons and rocket served in rosemary focaccia. There are just a few mains on the menu, which are there because of their quality. The steak and fries is paired beautifully with slow roasted tomatoes, and your choice of peas, with a rich whisky sauce, whilst the macaroni and cheese has the most creamy cheese blend.
