It’s easy to see why Comptoir Libanais has gathered such a legion of fans across the UK. This jovial, colourful multisite group offers bright, breezy food and drink in a beautiful setting, with a menu that has something for everyone.
Interiors are decked out with pop-art style vibrancy, with colourful rattan baskets, patterned mosaic floors, painted metal bistro chairs and wall murals all adding to the unique, upbeat styling inside. There are subtle nods to real Middle Eastern cafés in its white tiles & plastic stools.
Comptoir Libanais deals in authentic Lebanese grub, with a menu that takes a broad spectrum approach. Get started with a mezze platter and swipe freshly-baked breads through a series of wonderful dips, like smooth hommos, baba ghanuj and labne. There are lots of other small bites such as falafel balls, Lebanese pickles, handmade cheese sambousek parcels and tabbouleh. Save room, though, because there’s lots more to explore across the menu, including rice bowls, smokey grill plates, tagines and other house specialities. Nab a za’atar flatbread and pile chunks of lamb kofta or chicken taouk into it, alongside fresh salad and vermicelli rice. If you’re hungry, you can’t go wrong with a mixed grill, or one of Comptoir’s chicken and green olive tagines, which come with rice, couscous or quinoa.
There’s lots of choice for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diners as well, with all dishes clearly marked and signposted, making Comptoir Libanais a good choice if you have some dietary requirements among your group.
Comptoir Libanais also offers good set menu deals, including ‘The Feast’ - a sharing feast for minimum two people that includes mezze platters, a choice of large plates and a piece of baklawa with fresh mint tea for dessert.
