Found in Shoreditch’s buzzing streets, Cocotte brings a relaxed yet refined atmosphere for your next breakfast, lunch or dinner. This restaurant group has capitalised on the nation’s obsession with roast chicken, with menus that are entirely dedicated to the stuff. The third site from the group, locals can now enjoy these freshly roasted chickens in East London.
The interiors make Cocotte instantly recognisable, with its neutral, woody tones, and foliage-decked walls. An open kitchen spans the length of the restaurant, offering a selection of countertop seats for those who want front-row to all the action. Wicker chairs and cosy booth seating offer the perfect spot to while away a few hours over good food and conversation.
When it comes to the food at Cocotte, you’re guaranteed high-quality produce. The staple of its menus, roast chicken, spend their lives outside, in a little village in French. They are then marinated for 24 hours, before being cooked in the rotisserie and served up with salads, truffled mac ‘n’ cheese or potatoes roasted in chicken dripping. Sold as wholes, halves and quarters, choose your size and a sauce that suits your palate, from garlic mayo to a classic mustard.
Menus also offer a selection of indulgent salads, topped with chickpeas, red onion and mozzarella, or roasted turmeric cauliflower with beets, and cranberries. Elsewhere, you can opt for a selection of burgers such as the crispy chicken burger with pickled cabbage and cheese, or the OG with black pepper mayo and shredded lettuce.
You can also pop into Cocotte for your next brunch, with a menu packed full of sweet and savoury offerings that make for a great start to your day. Choose from the likes of eggs benedict with ham or kale, avocado on sourdough toast, or chicken and croissant waffles topped with a fried egg.
