A grand hotel dining room that befits this elegant Regency-style hotel, Butlers exudes the air of a traditional private club rather than anything brash or glitzy. Calm, efficient service accentuates its luxurious vibe. Guests are often residents of the hotel, but there are plenty of locals who avail themselves of the total reliability of the restaurant, relishing chef Ben Kelliher’s clean modern British cooking with global overtones. Breakfast covers all the bases, from croissants to eggs Benedict via porridge oats with whisky. Come lunch and dinner, there’s Forman’s smoked salmon, classic steaks and arguably London’s best Dover sole – for those who like their cooking straightforward. More adventurous diners are rewarded with starters such as scallops accompanied by Jerusalem artichokes, Granny Smith apple and hazelnut, plus a pulled-pork croquette, followed by mains of herb-crusted loin of lamb with slow-cooked shoulder, a potato and goats’ cheese terrine and shallot and ale purée.

Butler’s Restaurant is the flagship restaurant at the grand, Regency-style Mayfair hotel, The Chesterfield. Guests can expect a refined, luxurious experience here, defined by carefully curated, seasonal British menus and outstanding service.

As you might expect, Butler's Restaurant mirrors the opulence of the hotel. Guests will feel cossetted by the stunning, luxurious design touches, such as the rich coloured draperies, tall windows and ceilings, and large hanging chandeliers. The restaurant certainly is something to feast your eyes on whilst you wait for food to be served.

Chef Ben Kelliher leads the kitchen, overseeing a.modern British cuisine that takes little flashes of inspiration from all over the world. The restaurant serves food all-day, every day, starting with breakfast in the mornings and then offering both lunch and dinner menus.

Breakfast offers all the British classics, from porridge oats with whiskey and croissants, to eggs Benedict and pancakes. Although many skip the starters at restaurants and go straight to the hearty mains, at Butler’s they are an absolute must, offering exciting and creative options, such as Jerusalem artichokes, Granny Smith apple and hazelnut, and pulled-pork croquettes. Lunch and dinner provide a spectacular selection of classic steaks, fresh salmon, and Dover sole. Our favourite, however, has to be the herb-crusted, slow-cooked loin of lamb accompanied with potatoes, goat’s cheese terrine and shallot and ale puree for the amounts of textures and flavours it provides.

Although most diners are guests at the hotel, anyone can make a reservation and Butler’s is often a popular choice with the locals. Accessible to all, Butler’s caters to vegans and vegetarians, it offers options that are halal, as well as a children's menu that’s suitable for even the pickiest eaters. The restaurant is also wheelchair friendly.

What a great find!!! I had stayed at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel on numerous occasions for work, and never thought about eating in the hotel restaurant. And why would you, when you've got great restaurants surrounding the hotel. But I thought I would give it a try, and I was blown away! Takes a lot to impress me, having experienced and dined throughout my travels. The service is impeccable. The attention to the tiniest detail is faltless. From the selection of salts from far off places, to homemade petit fours served with the coffee. I had their goats cheese terrine to start, followed by the pork belly. You would think that pork belly would be quite a heavy ingredient, but the way it was served and the pickled Fennel, and microherbs, made it light, full of flavour, and beautiful. I was there for work, so my colleague and i had had lots to catch up on, and the fact that the restaurant is tucked away, meant it wasn't overcrowded and loud. You can hear yourself talk. The waiters are discreet, so much so, you don't even notice them topping up your glass. My point is, you can have a great lunch, and have a conversation and not feel as though you're being rushed off, because they need the table. Definately a place I would recommend, the whole environment feels like an exclusive mayfair private club, but its charm is warm and inviting. I don't know where they picked their staff, but well done, because they seem to always remember their regular customers (i'm a convert now.) and the welcome at the door is always genuine.
