If you ever wondered why your father spends so much time in his garden, could this be the answer? Kitted out like Tom and Barbara’s potting shed in The Good Life, the titchy bar at Brixton Cornercopia is just perfect if you want to discover botanical cocktails that introduce home-grown and foraged plants, herbs, summer fruits, edible flowers and even a bit of barrow-boy veg to English spirits such as Element 29 vodka, Boxer gin, Sacred vermouth, Shipwreck cider brandy and sparkling wines from the UK’s southern climes. Prices range from £5-9 for refreshing sips such as spring fruit cup, rhubarb sour, nettle gimlet and British sangria (English white wine and elderflower), although the menu evolves weekly to accommodate various ingredients as they come into season. Note: no reservations.
