Brew Wimbledon, an addition to the Australian Brew franchise, maintains the same minimal aesthetic we love in the other branches. Walk into the homely café and order your favourite Brew breakfast or coffee to go. The clean white tiling and painted brick work well alongside the wooden accents and pops of colour on the sofas, also contrasting against the shale-fronted kitchen counter and walls. Look out for the light feature above the bar: the colourful cord-wrapped slab of wood helps brighten up the area. If you decide to dine outside, perk on the vibrant blue café style seating.
Open for breakfast from 7am, Brew Wimbledon serves up a range of hot and cold brekkie options including the millennial-loving avocado toast with cottage cheese and lemon or a toasted croissant with gruyere and tomato. For drinks, pair breakfast with a freshly pressed energiser juice with carrot, ginger, apple and celery or a mint tea from the garden if you’re not feeling like a flat white.
Later in the day, start your meal with a small plate of Cleopatra soup with coconut and heirloom tomato. For mains, enjoy an easy calzone pizza with Lancashire cheddar, oregano oil and garlic or a spicy roasted pepperoni and chorizo with fresh chilli. For a healthier option, choose the Vietnamese chicken salad with cabbage, shredded carrots and topped with coriander. Your last course can include a scoop of ice-cream in a waffle cone, cheesecake or a selection of cake slices: carrot, red velvet and the cake of the day.
From the cocktail list, try a Naughty Gran dirty juice of spinach, pear, granny smith, pear and vodka. You can also have a selection of wines, beers, hard shakes and cocktails, such as the Affogato Martini with vodka, espresso and vanilla ice-cream.
Brew not only offers dine-in, but guests can take home treats such as coffee beans, bread loaves and homemade granola to fill the cupboards. The Wimbledon café runs weekly specials and frequently changes up the seasonal menu, which you can find out about on the chalkboards in-store. Also, you can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi while you work.
